I've just searched facebook for library groups, and I found this Library 2.0 Interest
Group. I thought it was kinda cool, so watch it out yourself, if you're interested.
I also found this group called, No, I don't look like a librarian! and I think that almost
everybody in our class kan relate to that phrase in some way, cause many of us have
heard it before. ;)
If you want to find profiles over librarians on facebook, you only have to search for
"librarian" and you'll find quite a list.

Alternatively I suppose we could start to desperately flog the profession as: Become a librarian and get paid to play on Facebook!

Hmm.Blogging.Probably not one of my most convincing talents but here I go.I like the idea of Web 2.0, even though I never think about it in my daily use of the internet.
Of course I’m among the 1’232’000+ Danes on Facebook, and like a drug I’m heavily addicted. But on those few days I try to quit Facebook, I find LinkedIn a marvellous substitute.
When I’m not on Facebook I like to go through different kinds of wikis, usually the ones concerning the computer games I’m currently playing, such as Wowwiki (World of Warcraft-wiki) and UESPWiki (Elder Scrolls Wiki).
I’m a big film collector and when you talk about film IMDB.com is indispensable – it is without doubt the best web 2.0 film-site on the web, with millions of users, and tons of user made material. When it comes to music I’m not much of a listener. But still Pandora provides me with an extended opportunity to make an enhanced playlist filled with music which I don’t necessarily know, but might like. The playlists are based on my voting on songs I’ve already heard.

It is a user made online guide to Copenhagen, with reviews, comments, tag clouds and top 10 lists. If you want to know what is hot and what is not, where the food is good or the entertainment boring, mitkbh.dk is the place to visit.

Of I go to the web 2.0 jungle
Last Friday we were asked about which web 2.0-applications we use in our daily life and I was taken a bit off guard, because I have never really considered if I use web 2.0-applications and what kind. Nevertheless I took on the challenge to find out and share it with all of you here on this blog. To make it a bit different I have chosen to write my contribution as a diary – a diary of my internet life.
Monday morning, damn it’s a beautiful weather – will this last the entire day? I log on to my customized iGoogle where I can see the weather forecast, and yeah, it will be a marvelous day, for once without an umbrella. At the same time I check my Google calendar and plan my day. Then, while eating breakfast, I check out my RSS-feeds from www.politiken.dk and www.borsen.dk and read the latest news. Whoops, once again time flies by and I have to be at work in half an hour. At work it’s a busy day with meetings and a lot of assignments. At lunch my colleges and I always make up the “today’s question” and the challenges is who can find the answer the quickest – you can probably imagine that it’s quite important that I win as the only librarian in the department. The question today is when was Barack Obama born? Once again Wikipedia comes to my rescue and state that he is born on 4th of August 1961, I’ll just have to werify it from another sources. Unfortunately I wasn’t the quickest, but probably the most thorough :o) Later on a college of mine ask about Google features and I show him Google labs. On the site you can find all different kinds of prototypes/beta versions from Google – a recommendable technology playground! At 5 pm I take the bus home and after shopping for groceries, I fling my self on the couch with my computer. As my daily ritual I log on to my Hotmail, Messenger and Facebook. On Facebook I have posted an announcement for an event to celebrate the launch of the Christmas beer and a lot of people have responded that they will attend. I have never really understood until now, how big and efficient a marketing tool Facebook really is.
As I browse through this text I realize that my usage of web 2.0 sites is not really impressive or innovative, so my plan is now to explore the web 2.0 jungle and try out some of the sites you all recommend – I think I’ll start with del.icio.us, Flickr and Go2web2.0. So of I go to the jungle…

Tinas thoughts
The interesting thing about interactive websites, is that the visitor of the site can affect what is written on them. Representative sites are for example advertising markets, webchat, guest book and more.
I use quite a few interactive websites, like metrobloggen, facebook and blocket.
Metrobloggen is similar to other bloggs you may know. The writer of the blogg is the moderator and editor of it; you can upload pictures, and visitors can leave comments, and then the writer choose to accept the comments and let them be visible for other visitors, or not. It’s really easy to start up a blogg because you don’t have to know HTML. You can choose one out of ten different already finished appearances for you blogg, but if you know how to create a CSS, you can make a completely new and original look for your blogg.
When it comes to me I’m an arty person, but in my blogg the focus is on the text, and not so much on the esthetics. I’m a creative person and I have to write to get rid of some thoughts, to be able to come up with new things. :) If you’re curious, it’s on http://www.metrobloggen.se/timotej, but most of it is in swedish, accept some poems, headlines and songs.
As almost everyone else, I’m on Facebook. The fun thing about it, is that you can collect friends. It might sound a bit strange, but I mean that you can keep in touch with people all over the world, and it’s very fast and easy, because everyone is there, only a “klick” away.
I’ve read an article about people getting addicted of the friend collecting part. They seem to think that the more friends you’ve got on facebook, the more status you’ve got over all. I think it’s rather the other way around...
Another site is Blocket, and it’s the biggest buy and sell market in Sweden. Here you can choose a landscape and a city, and then see what the people in the city wants to buy or sell. You can choose from several categories, if you’re looking for a car or an animal. I think it’s fun just to view what people have to offer, but I have actually never bought something, but many of my friends do.

Iveta's links to Web 2.0 sites
Hey, I would also like to contribute to this web 2.0 sites overview :)
As most of us, I use facebook , then igoogle and youtube. Similar kind of stuff as youtube can be done at Metacafe or czech Stream.cz , where users can add their videos or watch some pieces from czech tv channel, but I don't use it much.
I use Wikipedia, but only as a passive user, I do not contribute to the content. Then I sometimes go to Lyricwiki which is good when I need to find lyrics of songs I like.
I started my blog lately, but it is really a beta version, I still haven't found out everything I need from the CMS I'm using there..
I go almost every day to discussion forum nyx.cz where you can find a topic you are interested in and join easily with people with same interests. There are both chatting boards and more professional ones, which can be helpful if you have troubles when solving a problem. You can also present your pictures there and discuss about them and each user has a blogging space.
We used Slideshare quite a lot during one of my classes, our teacher always placed his presentations there. It's a good place when you want to show your presentations to group of people or find people who are into the same topic as you.
For listening to music, I sometimes go to last.fm but I think it has changed lately and I don't like it as much as before. I used to go more to Radioblogclub.com.

My first contact with Web 2.0 was six years ago, with a site almost like Facebook, very known in Portugal, called Hi5. It's a social network, where everyone shares photos, comments and other personal information. Back then, I had no notion of what Web 2.0 was, and Hi5 was mostly used to keep in touch with friends all over the country.
As my contact with the Internet began to increase, I became aware of many other community websites for other purposes. I still didn't know what Web 2.0 was, yet it was clear to me that these new paradigms of community and sharing were transforming the way people interacted with the Web and eachother. I was soon introduced to Last.FM and shared a profile with a group of friends, which enabled me to discover lots of new music i was unaware of.
I still remember the time when the vast majority of us did not know Wikipedia. It was a major revolution in the way we students thought about writing essays and doing our homework. While I never contributed any article, Wikipedia is often the starting point for most of my work. Other wiki software (such as TWiki) is used in some of the courses in my school for students to submit their work, and enables us to work together as a group, using all the tools for collaborative writing it provides.
Although I don't write a blog, i regularly keep in touch with my friends by reading their blogs, especially after having come to Denmark.
I also became addicted to Facebook, which event planning feature allows me to arrange nights out with my friends :) The iRead feature is a very nice addition, through which i can know what books my friends have read and share suggestions (almost like LibraryThing).
Google Reader is another application of Web 2.0 that i'm addicted to. I can concentrate all my news sources in one place, and share them with my friends.
I also use Youtube to watch funny videos and music videos my friends share with me.
Even though I don't use them, I know many other examples of Web 2.0 applications, such as Flickr, used to share photos; Delicious is a social bookmarking tool, which allows people to keep their bookmarks online, accesible from anywhere, and share links; Twitter is a microblogging tool, which can be used for reporting current actions and events, or as a mass SMS sender.
I am not even near a power Interner user, but I hope that I may have contributed a little to this blog :)

Ruths first blog entry ever called: Something old and not so much new!
Im so sorry, but I dont have any new and interresting web 2.0 sites to share with you.
Here´s the thing...I went on maternity leave about 2 years ago and gave birth to a beautiful son named Bertil!
Now Im back in school, and I decided to take two classes on 3. semester and the 5. semester at the same time! Hence NO time for funny BLOGS or any other web 2.0 sites!
I mainly read my homework when Bertil goes to bed at 20 every night, so I cant find the time or energy to investergate the www! The only web 2.0 sites Ive been using is the simple facebook and wikipedia. Otherwise I use the danish site all about copenhagen, to keep me updated on whats going on in copenhagen. If I should be so lucky to get a night out:-)I wouldnt call aok a new and exiting web 2.0 site, but you can be a member and write comments on restaurants etc. if you wish to!
As we speak Im on my way towards librarything!
