This blog will report news and developements regarding a book called "Information Literacy meets Library 2.0" edited by Peter Godwin and Jo Parker - just thought it looked interesting.

Bards Blower Songs

RSS-feeds…I tend to use the build-in RSS reader in my browser (Avant Browser) for a few simple reasons. It’s handy and with a right bar in the browser, easy to use – and a small sign pops up every time anything new happens on one of the blogs I’m following.

I know that none of this these are new, but since it wasn’t the assignment to find new blogs, but just to find some blogs, I don’t think it matters. I have chosen several blogs to follow:
The three I will be watching closely is:

• Farkas’s blog, for the obvious reasons. It’s her view point of web 2.0 that we are working with and therefore it is easier to set in on her writing style.
• iLibrarian, seams to have a broad range within the subject. It’s almost daily updated and have a blogroll with links to many of the other blogs listed by my co-students.
• This was the hard one, I wanted to take one with personality and humour, and I think both librarycrunch and ricklibrarian holds these characteristics. But in this case I’ll let the design win and choose ricklibarian, only because it’s easier to read.

Lets go bloghunting!

I have chosen 3 blogs to follow, even though Farkas been mentioned earlier I do mention her again. After been searching around for a while I went to ALA:s homepage. Thought they would have some great stuff about library 2.0 or at least some good blogs. But I was disappointed. There were blogs, but not many wrote about web 2.0 or library 2.0. There probably are many good blogs there though, and they have a nice own kind of RSS-feed that collects all their blogs in one page.

At least I found 2 other blogs that was interesting. First off is ALA Techsource And I found it sad that they don’t blog under ALA:s blog list. But they have some fun new tech-stuff and I love the “fun” angle on library and technology. The other blog is written by a system librarian and assistant professor Aaron, Aaron the librarian. He is fun, and he writes in a really good way that appeals to me.

It seems that many blogs out there are very good written and there are some spirits in them, but the lack of good categories (if any) starts to annoy me a bit. Would be nice if there was a self-tagging program that did all the tagging for the writer and put it in categories for them. Yeye, I know. Who would set the terms for those categories and so on, but it sure would help me stop getting annoyed of lack of taggs ;-)

As a RSS-thingy, I use Google reader. I did use the one in my browser before, but I find it better to have it on the webb.
